I used to feel alone, even in a crowd. Like I was taking up space. Someone else’s space. For a long time, I couldn’t figure out why I struggled to connect with people — until I discovered somatic energy work, a practice that helped me uncover what I had been carrying deep inside my body all along.

Why I Struggled with Connection

Relationships never seemed to stick. Friendships in my city felt surface-level. I’d show up the way I thought people wanted me to — smile, laugh, try to fit in — but deep down, it all felt fake. What I truly wanted was real connection. And now I understand why I wasn’t getting it: I wasn’t being authentic.

I had suppressed sadness, loneliness, and feelings of unworthiness for years. I didn’t know that unprocessed emotions don’t disappear — they live in your body like a suit of armor. And that armor disconnects you from others and from yourself.

When I Finally Realized Something Was Off

My wake-up call came after a trail of failed relationships. With friends, the story was similar. I had a few close friends across the country, but I struggled to form meaningful connections where I lived. I wasn’t socially anxious, I was just exhausted from performing all the time, even if I wasn’t aware of it.

Discovering Somatic Energy Work by Accident

One day in Puerto Rico, during a quiet meditation, I felt a shift inside — subtle but unmistakable. That moment introduced me to self somatic energy work.

I didn’t know what it was at first, but the experience led me to teachings from Joe Dispenza, Teal Swan, and the book It’s Not Always Depression. Since then, self somatic energy work has become the most powerful tool in my healing toolbox.

What Is Self Somatic Energy Work?

In my words, somatic energy work is the intentional practice of feeling, processing, and releasing the energy stored in your body. It’s not just about calming your thoughts — it’s about tuning into the physical and emotional layers of your experience.

Unlike traditional talk therapy or mindset coaching, this practice brings you into a direct relationship with your body. You’re not just thinking about the problem. You’re feeling through it — and letting it go.

What Happens During a Session?

A typical session starts like meditation, but the focus is different. You place your awareness on specific parts of the body and notice what happens. Where you place your attention is where you place your energy — and that’s where the shift occurs.

Afterward, I often feel clearer, lighter, or simply more grounded. Most often, I feel relief from overthinking, muscle tension, and old emotional burdens I didn’t know I was still carrying.

Why Somatic Energy Work Is So Effective

I’ve studied healing for years — from spiritual mentors to experts like Gabor Maté and Peter Levine. I’ve spent thousands on therapy, bodywork, and personal growth seminars. They all helped, but somatic energy work moved the needle the most.

The body stores energy. Over time, stress and suppression overcharge your system — leading to emotional burnout and even physical symptoms. That’s where disconnect and dis-ease begin. And that’s where this work makes a difference.

How to Know It’s Working

You’ll start to notice subtle but undeniable shifts: more clarity, more calm, physical lightness, emotional releases. You might finally feel safe in your own body. Or okay with being alone. Or more present in conversation.

I’ve shared this with clients and friends. Some said it changed their relationship to therapy. One made a major career pivot afterward. Others say it’s the first thing that’s helped them move old emotional energy without needing to “figure it all out” first.

Introducing the Mindworx Program

I teach this work inside my Mindworx program — a step-by-step guide to building your mind-body connection and learning how to do self somatic energy work yourself. You can move at your own pace, or work with me 1-on-1 for guidance.

This isn’t woo. It’s practical. It’s powerful. And it works.

If you’re tired of performing… if you’re ready to stop thinking your way through problems and finally feel like yourself again… this might be the missing link.
