As a former Silicon Valley software engineer, the transition to energy work often confuses people. They ask: “Why would someone with a background in logic, code, and systems pivot to something as alternative as energy work?”
The answer isn’t that I abandoned logic. It’s that I found a more effective way to debug the system.
While this work might look “woo” from the outside, the mechanics behind it are incredibly technical, complex, and grounded in physics. I didn’t leave engineering to escape complexity; I left to apply a “root cause” solution to the most sophisticated operating system on the planet: The Human Body.
Here is the technical breakdown of what is actually happening during a session, why it works, and the logic behind the “magic.”
The Body as a Storage Device (The “tl;dr”)
To put it simply, the goal of this work is to release and reduce the amount of stress and tension that has built up in the human system over decades.
In the West, we are often taught that stress is a temporary state—a fleeting reaction to a bad meeting or a tight deadline. We think, “I was stressed today,” and assume it vanishes when we sleep.
The data suggests otherwise. Chronic, long-term stress doesn’t just evaporate; it is held physically by the body. As noted in books like The Body Keeps the Score, the body stores these tension patterns in specific subsystems. This bound tension affects everything:
- Your Nervous System: It keeps you locked in a reactive state.
- Your Physicality: It manifests as chronic pain or tightness.
- Your Perception: It acts like a filter, distorting how you view reality.
- Your Consciousness: There are measurable levels of consciousness, and bound tension keeps you stuck in lower, more reactive levels of awareness.
My goal is to unbind and unwind that stored data so the system can upgrade its processing power.
The “Band-Aid” vs. The Environment (How Healing Actually Works)
A common misconception is that a practitioner “heals” you. That is scientifically impossible. At the end of the day, all healing is self-healing.
Let’s look at a standard medical example: If you cut your finger and put a Band-Aid and Neosporin on it, does the Band-Aid heal the cut? No. Does the antibacterial cream knit the skin back together? No. The body does that. The Band-Aid simply creates the optimal environment (free from infection and friction) for the body to execute its own repair script.
Take it a step further: If a hand is severed and a surgeon reattaches it, the surgeon isn’t actually “healing” the hand. They are lining up the tissues and stitching them together. They don’t sew the individual nerves back together. The nerves must find their own way and reconnect on their own.
Energy work functions on the exact same logic. I am not “treating” your pain, your stress, or your condition. I am interacting with your system to create the precise energetic environment required for your body to let go, relax, and heal itself. We are removing the interference so your internal hardware can function as designed.
The Physics of “Human Hardware”
This isn’t faith; it is electromagnetism.
We already accept that the body generates powerful fields. The heart, for example, generates an electromagnetic field so strong it can be measured by electronic devices up to several feet away. The brain generates fields measured by EEGs.
But here is the limitation: Our current electronic hardware is limited.
Think about the light spectrum. The human eye can only see a tiny slice of reality (visible light). But Ultraviolet and Infrared light exist and affect us, even if we can’t see them without tools.
The human body generates subtle fields that go beyond what a standard EKG or EEG can currently detect. But just because a machine can’t measure it doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
This is where the training comes in. As practitioners, we train our “Human Hardware”—our own nervous systems—to sense these subtle quantum fields. We learn to detect where the “signal” is blocked or bound. We use our own sensitivity as the diagnostic tool to interact with the body’s quantum field, facilitating a release that machines cannot yet replicate.
Root Cause vs. “Patching the Code”
Coming from a software background, I look at the human body like a codebase. When there is a bug, you have two options:
- Patch it (The Band-Aid): You write a quick fix to hide the error.
- Refactor it (The Root Cause): You go deep into the source code and fix the logic.
Western medicine and talk therapy often act like patches. If you have chronic stress and you talk to someone about it once a week, you are “letting off steam.” It feels good in the moment, but you are often just managing the symptom. The pattern remains.
From an engineering perspective, that is inefficient. If you don’t fix the root cause, the bug will show up again later, usually causing more damage and costing the “company” (your body) more resources to fix down the line.
This energy work is a root cause solution. We are looking for the bound energy that causes the pattern to exist in the first place. By dissolving the tension at the source, we stop the bug from recurring.
The “Observer Effect” and Mastery
You might wonder, “If this is physics, why isn’t it standard medical practice yet?”
The answer lies in Quantum Physics: The Observer Effect. We know that the observer affects the observed. In this work, the practitioner is a key variable in the equation.
Because we are interacting with a quantum field, the state of the practitioner matters. If a practitioner hasn’t mastered their craft or isn’t “calibrated” correctly, they won’t produce the same result as someone who has. This makes it harder to reproduce in a standard double-blind study compared to a chemical pill, because the variable is the human being delivering the work.
However, researchers like Donny Epstein are doing fascinating research into this. It is reproducible, but it requires mastery. My own mentor has been doing this for over three decades and is still refining his craft because of how infinitely complex and technical the variables are.
The ROI: Measurable Results
When you create the right environment for the body, the results are tangible and often immediate. In my work with volunteers and clients, the feedback has been consistent:
- Pain Elimination: I’ve seen chronic issues, like SI joint pain or knee pain, vanish or significantly reduce after a single session.
- Energy Efficiency: Clients report needing less coffee to function. This happens because they are no longer wasting “battery life” holding down suppressed tension.
- Safety & Trauma: One client who had experienced significant abuse mentioned feeling “safe in her body” for the first time after just one session.
These aren’t placebo effects; they are the result of a system that has finally been given permission to reboot.
This is Not Reiki
Finally, a necessary clarification. People often ask, “Is this Reiki?” The answer is no.
Reiki is generally described as “channeling” universal energy into a person. This work is different. We are interacting directly with the quantum fields of the human body itself. We are focusing on the bound energy that is already inside you—stuck in your tissues—and helping your system process, digest, and release it.
It is technical. It requires precision. And for a software engineer like me, it is the most logical way to upgrade the human operating system.
